There are plans for more office space and residential units in the Dublin Docklands area.
“A planning application for a €450 million development in Dublin’s Docklands
is being made today. It is the biggest scheme since the area was earmarked for
accelerated development. The development on Sir John Rogerson Quay and Hanover Quay will
involve office space for a total of 2,400 workers and 158 residential apartments.…The planning applications are being made to Dublin City Council
as part of a Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) designation for the area.” (2)“Nama is now involved in the planning and development of a number of projects.
The agency said the 22 hectares that form the Strategic Development Zone
in the Dublin docklands have the potential for the creation of 3.4m square feet of
commercial space and 1,848 apartments over the next five to seven years.” (3)
