The 2026 15th Docklands Volunteer Week kicks off on Monday 11th May with our largest list of event to date.
Custom House Tour, Monday 11th May 1.00pm
Explore one of Dublin’s most iconic buildings with a guided tour of the historic Custom House. Participants will gain insight into its architectural significance and its role in Ireland’s commercial and civic history.
Tech Cafés. Tuesday 12th May 10.00am
Supporting older members of the community, our Tech Cafés provide one-to-one, informal help with everyday technology. Local employee volunteers assist with smartphones and tablets—helping to build confidence and reduce digital exclusion.
Sustainable Network Event Wednesday 13th May 7.30am
An update for members on the progress of our Dublin Docklands Sustainability Action Programme. This event is also an opportunity for local businesses to build their Docklands network.
Docklands Heritage Tours Wed. 13th, Thur. 14th, Fri. 15th 3.00pm
Walking tours of Docklands offer a fascinating look at the area’s transformation from a working port to a vibrant business district. Learn about its industrial past, key landmarks, and the stories that shaped its development.
CHQ Building Tours Wed. 13th, Thur. 14th, Fri. 15th 4.30pm
Discover the rich history of the CHQ Building, a cornerstone of Docklands heritage. These guided tours highlight its evolution from a 19th-century warehouse to a modern cultural and business hub.
Home Energy Clinic Wednesday 13th, 6.30pm
Helping households take control of their energy use, this clinic offers practical advice on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and making homes more sustainable. Volunteers and experts will guide participants through simple steps that can make a real difference.
Biodiversity Day Thursday 14th May 9.15am
A hands-on day dedicated to enhancing local biodiversity, with activities such as planting pollinators and improving green spaces. Volunteers will help create healthier habitats while learning about the importance of protecting urban ecosystems.
Charity Cycle Thursday 14th May 10.00am
A scenic group cycle from Docklands to Sutton Cross and back, bringing together cycling enthusiasts from local businesses and cyclists from After Care Recovery Group (ACRG). A great opportunity to get active, connect with others, and contribute to a local charity.
Plastic Free Waterways Initiative Thursday 14th May 9.15am
Partnering with our friends in HQ20, the new water activity centre on Custom House Quay, Volunteers take to the River Liffey, Royal Canal and Grand Canal Basin to remove plastic waste before it reaches Dublin Bay. This impactful activity protects marine life while improving the local environment.
MacMahon Bridge Mural Thursday 14th May 9.15am
Volunteers will help restore and refresh the MacMahon Bridge mural, enhancing a key visual feature of Docklands. This creative project contributes to local pride and improves the public realm for all who live and work in the area.
The Big Clean Up Thursday 14th May 9.15am
Our flagship event sees volunteers come together to improve Docklands in a single morning. Activities include litter picking, graffiti removal, planting, and community clean-ups—delivering visible and lasting impact across the area.

A special thank-you event for all participants, the Volunteer Big Lunch brings everyone together to celebrate their contribution. For volunteers and guests only.
Heritage Tour of Dublin Bay, Friday 15th 9.00am
Hosted by our friends in Dublin Bay Cruises, this tour will take in the Quays of east Docklands, the Great South Wall, the Pideon House Hotel, the Old Electric Power Station (first in Ireland), the Poolbeg Generating Station and Dublin Bay’s UNESCO Biosphere.
Community 5-A-Side Friday 15th 1.00pm
Now in its fifth year, this friendly football tournament brings together local businesses and community teams. It’s a fun and inclusive way to build relationships, break down barriers, and strengthen connections through sport.
