Improved Irish Rail Services 

There are plans to open up part of the underground rail system in Pheonix Park, to accommodate commuters from areas such as  Portloaise – Portarlington – Monasterevin – Kildare and Newbridge. These Commuters will no longer need to switch at Houston to Luas or Bus services, and can remain on a Train which will go four times straight to the heart of the City including Dublin’s Docklands. 

“The decision to reopen the tunnel was first announced last
year as part of a proposed €900m development plan for transport in Dublin.”
